Miles G. Cohen is a freelance reporter for The New York Times where he has reported on nearly 80 stories over the past year, including the New York Democratic primary, the Knicks’ championship run and a historic blizzard which blanketed New York City and a deep freeze that endangered many people living in homeless encampments.
Cohen previously worked as a reporter, writer and producer for Good Morning America and World News Tonight at ABC News. During that time, he covered a number of major national news stories in the field, including Hurricane Ian in Florida; a mass shooting at a grocery story in Buffalo; and the entire Elizabeth Holmes fraud trial in California. He also landed key interviews for ABC over the last five years, including Rick Singer, who orchestrated the “Varsity Blues” college admissions scandal; Jack Teixeira, the junior airman who leaked Pentagon secrets and Arnulfo Reyes, a teacher at Robb Elementary School, in Uvalde, Texas, who lost all 11 of his students after a gunman entered his classroom.
While at ABC, Cohen was an on-air reporter on the Hulu show “Power Trip,” a documentary series produced by George Stephanopoulos focused on the 2022 midterm elections. The show took Cohen to 12 states and 38 cities to report on Gov. Ron DeSantis’s gubernatorial campaign and the start of President Trump’s 2024 presidential run.
Cohen has a master’s degree from Columbia Journalism School and a bachelor’s from New York University. He is a third year law student at Fordham University School of Law and is based in New York.
